A three steps path

Contenuti schema Master in Digital Innovation & Entrepreneurship

The teaching activities are organized in three different phases for the acquisition of skills, and over six modules. Module 1 and 2 discuss digital economy and innovation, with the goal of creating consciousness of the new technological context and its chances and challenges. The first phase comprises an introductive lecture in Corporate Economy. Modules 3 and 4 provide students with technical and analytical instruments to identify the main actors and dynamics of innovation, as well as the transformation of business models and corporate organization tied to the new digital ecosystems and multi-sided market. Modules 5 and 6 provide students with the fundamental tools to understand digital entrepreneurship, and to acquire the needed skills and techniques to manage a digital, platform-based business.

Module 1

Digital Economy

2 CFU, 16 h classroom lesson, 8 h laboratories, 26 h individual study

The module consists of monothematic workshops dealing with the origins and future of the information society. Workshops are held by Gianpiero Lotito, Founder and CEO of FacilityLive.

Module 2

Business Management

2 CFU, 16 h classroom lecture, 8 h laboratories, 26 h individual study

The module covers corporate economy, specifically for Master course students that do not come from economy studies.

The module is organized as follows:

  • fundaments of corporate management;
  • fundaments of strategy and marketing;
  • fundaments of balance sheet and corporate finance;
  • management program and control.

LAB: Composing and reading a balance sheet.

Module 3

Innovation Management

4 CFU, 32 h classroom lecture, 12 h laboratories, 52 h individual study

The module covers innovation topics: from the creation of the innovative idea to the management of innovative entreprises development.

The module is organized as follows:

  • types of innovation, disruptive technologies and main actors in the innovation process;
  • creating, evaluating and selecting ideas;
  • Creativity and Idea Management;
  • Business Model Innovation;
  • Marketing and launching of innovative projects: MPV & lean way;
  • Open Innovation Strategies;
  • Market and Technology Forecasting;
  • Exponential Organization;
  • Agile Management Transformation;
  • Digital Marketing for breakthrough value propositions.

Module 4

Digital Ecosystems & Platform Economics

4 CFU, 32 h classroom lecture, 16 h laboratories, 52 h individual study

The module covers economy and digital platforms seen from an industrial economy perspective. Central point of this module is case studies presented by professors. The module is organized as follows:

  • Digital ecosystems and platforms: evolution and innovation models;
  • Digital ecosystems and platforms: the FacilityLive case and the Small Valley approach;
  • Digital ecosystems and Entrepreneurial State notion;
  • Digital ecosystems and the Digital Single Markets;
  • Two-sided market industrial economy;
  • Software Platforms as information goods and multi-sided market;
  • Platform Economy: case studies.
Module 5

Innovation & Entrepreneurship

2 CFU, 16 h classroom lecture, 8 h laboratories, 26 h individual study

The module deals with issues related to the creation and development of digital business, providing space for e-skills and soft skills. A central part of the module are the case studies presented by the professors.

Module 6

Digital Enterprise Management

6 CFU, 48 h classroom lecture, 24 h laboratories, 78 h individual study

The module covers topics about the management of a digital platform company. Case studies presented by professors are central point of this module. The module is organized as follows:
